What You'll Need

Heat Press Settings for DTF Transfers
Use these settings as your starting point:
- Temperature: 280°F
- Pressure: Medium-firm
- Time: 10–15 seconds
- Peel: HOT PEEL (check your transfer type)
Note: Settings may vary slightly depending on your heat press model and fabric type. Always do a test press first.
Step-by-Step Application
Step 1: Pre-Press Your Garment
Place your garment on the heat press and press for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. This helps the transfer adhere evenly.
Step 2: Position Your Transfer
Place the DTF transfer face-down (printed side down) on the garment in your desired position. Use a ruler or alignment guide if you need precise placement.
Step 3: Cover and Press
Optionally place a Teflon sheet or parchment paper over the transfer to protect it. Close the heat press and apply firm pressure for 10–15 seconds at 280°F.
Step 4: Peel the Film
Open the press and carefully peel the film away. For hot peel transfers, peel immediately while still hot. For cold peel transfers, let it cool for 10–20 seconds first. Peel slowly and at a low angle.
Step 5: Final Press (Optional but Recommended)
Place a Teflon sheet over the finished print and press again for 5–10 seconds. This helps seal the edges and improves durability.
Tips for Best Results
- Don't rush the peel — peeling too fast or at the wrong angle can lift the print.
- Even pressure matters — if your press has hot spots, rotate the garment and re-press.
- Test on a scrap first — especially when pressing on a new fabric type.
- Wash inside out in cold water — this extends the life of your print significantly.
