If you're new to DTF printing or just want to maximize your order, building a gang sheet the right way can save you money and get you better results. Here's everything you need to know.
What Is a DTF Gang Sheet?
A DTF (Direct to Film) gang sheet is a single print file that contains multiple designs arranged together on one sheet. Instead of printing each design separately, you pack them all onto one sheet — maximizing the printable area and reducing cost per print.
Step-by-Step: How to Build Your Gang Sheet
Step 1: Set Your Canvas Width to 22.5"
Our maximum print width is 22.5 inches. Start by creating a canvas that is exactly 22.5" wide in your design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, etc.). The height can be whatever you need.
Step 2: Arrange Your Designs
Place your individual designs onto the canvas, fitting them as tightly as possible without overlapping. Leave at least 0.25" between designs to allow for clean cutting.
Step 3: Use the Full Width
Don't leave large gaps on the sides. The more efficiently you fill the sheet, the more value you get per dollar spent. Rotate designs if needed to fit more in.
Step 4: Export as a High-Resolution PNG
Export your finished gang sheet as a PNG file with a transparent background at 300 DPI. This ensures crisp, vibrant prints.
Step 5: Upload and Order
Head to our Upload Your Own DTF Gang Sheet page, select your sheet height, upload your file, and place your order. It's that simple.
Pro Tips for Better Gang Sheets
- Group similar sizes together — it makes cutting easier and faster.
- Check your file dimensions before uploading — artwork wider than 22.5" will be cut off.
- Use transparent backgrounds — solid white backgrounds will print as white on your transfer.
- Higher resolution = sharper prints — always work at 300 DPI minimum.
